A. Theory

The theory part of this course is aligned with the "Cyberops Associate" trajectory by Cisco Netacad (a more detailed list of themes is given below), for which the students will be provided with self-paced online courseware.

B. Practical labs

To support the theory part of this course, weekly labs will be foreseen in which the students implement selected network security techniques to improve the security of a given (physical or virtualised) network. These techniques e.g. include VLANs, firewalling, IDS/IPS (Intrusion detection and prevention), and SIEM (Security Information and Event Management). For these labs, the students will submit weekly lab reports that are part of the permanent evaluation.
