Omschrijving Inhoud (EN)

This course unit covers the fundamental concepts of cybersecurity, which serve as a foundation for further study within the program. The content includes (an introduction to):

  • Cybersecurity Concepts
  • Mathematical problem-solving concepts such as number systems and notations, modular arithmetic, basic probability theory (brute force), and password entropy
  • Security Architecture Principles
  • Security of Networks, Systems, Applications, and Data
  • Cryptography
  • Incident Response
  • Security Implications and Adoption of Evolving Technology
  • Guest lectures on cybersecurity topics

Students will also learn Python scripting within a simplified cybersecurity context.
Other topics relevant to the basic concepts of cybersecurity are also covered.
